Herfst in het Bos (autumn in the Forest). A beautiful painting with warm autumn colours, ducks flying off at a pond in the woods. Made by John Bévort, during his heydays. John Bevort was born on 30 November 1917 in Utrecht, he died on 31 January 1996 in Schoorl. The painting is in authentic and excellent condition. It is enclosed in a special, nice frame. Bevort was educated by Chris Agterberg and G. Nijenhuis in Utrecht. He lived and worked in the province of Noord-Holland, close to the dunes, where he worked with Spartan discipline until a very high age. He also made many trips in Europe and the USA and was a member of the International Organisation of free art. Bevort settled around 1960 in Schoorl in the province of Noord-Holland and is known as ‘The painter from Schoorl’. He passed away on 31 January 1996. He had expositions in Europe and the USA. He was a tutor of renowned painters like Gerard Ernens and Peter Brouwer. Bevort mainly became renowned for the use of his palette knife while making realistic landscapes, beach and sea views and hunting scenes. Info: Scheen (supplement), Benezit.
